Meet The Team
Dr. Erin Goertzen, DDS, MSc
Dr. Erin Goertzen (“Dr. Erin”) joined the Niagara Kids Dentistry team in 2020 and continues her commitment to provide thoughtful and personalized dental care to the pediatric patients of the Niagara region.
After graduating from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science, Honours degree in Biology, Dr. Goertzen obtained her Master of Science degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology from the University of Western Ontario. She then completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto, followed by a General Practice Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Dr. Goertzen then completed her Pediatric Dentistry Specialty program at The University of Toronto, where she gained extensive experience in all aspects of pediatric dental care including infant oral health, preventive and restorative care, behaviour management, dental trauma management, and treatment under minimal, moderate, and general anaesthesia. She trained at The Hospital for Sick Children, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation centre, where she provided a wide range of dental care to medically compromised patients and those with special healthcare needs in both clinical and operating room settings.
Dr. Goertzen lives in Niagara-on-the-Lake with her husband, Cameron, a trained dental anaesthesiologist, who also provides sedation care for adult and child dental patients in the Niagara region.
Dr. Goertzen is an active member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association, the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Cameron Goertzen, DDS, MSc
Dental Anaesthesia Provider
Dr. Cam joined the Niagara Kids Dentistry team in 2022.
After graduating from The University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Medical Science, Honours degree in Pathology & Toxicology, Dr. Cam obtained his Master of Science degree in Physiology & Pharmacology from the University of Western Ontario. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Cam then completed his 3-year Dental Anaesthesiology program at The University of Toronto, where he gained extensive experience in providing general anaesthesia, moderate, and deep sedation to a wide variety of both healthy and medically-compromised adult and child patients.
He trained for three years at multiple hospitals in Toronto, including Michael Garron Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Sunnybrook Hospital, where he provided dental care under general anaesthesia, moderate, and deep sedation to medically compromised patients and those with special healthcare needs in both clinical and operating room settings. Dr. Cam is licensed by the RCDSO to provide general anaesthesia, moderate, and deep sedation to patients of all ages undergoing dental procedures in a dental office.
Dr. Cam is an active member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association, The Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia, and The American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. Dr. Cam is also a clinical instructor at The University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry.
Dr. Cam lives in his hometown of Niagara-on-the-Lake with his wife, Dr. Erin.
Dr. Kelsey Cale
Dr. Kelsey Cale joined our team in 2023 after relocating from New Brunswick. Her Maritime hospitality helps her patients to quickly feel at ease when they meet her.
Dr. Cale earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Sociology at Mount Allison University. She then attended Dalhousie University where she obtained a Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery. Throughout her studies at Dalhousie, she participated in a unique public health program that exposed her to the role of community dentistry for populations with limited access to care. Upon graduation, Dr. Cale was awarded the Dr. Mary Foley Prize, an award that is given to the graduating student who has shown the most professional and compassionate treatment of their patient family, a skill that she has become known for where she practiced general dentistry in New Brunswick for the last several years.
Dr. Cale provides her patients and their parents with the tools to understand their oral health while providing a positive dental experience. As a current pediatric dentistry resident at the University of Toronto and at SickKids hospital, she stays up-to-date with emerging techniques to improve patient care. Dr. Cale looks forward to continuing to treat her patients at Niagara Kids Dentistry with the compassion, patience and professionalism she has become known for.
In her spare time, Dr. Cale enjoys spending time with her family, exploring Ontario’s natural beauty and chasing her dog, Finn.
Kyla Reynold RN
Kyla is a Registered Nurse and is part of the anaesthesia and sedation team here at Niagara Kids Dentistry. Kyla joined our team in 2022 and is a local Niagara resident from Fort Erie, ON. Kyla graduated from Brock University in 2020, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
She has nursing experience working in the hospital in Complex Care and currently works in Labour and Delivery department at St. Catharines General Hospital. Kyla is ACLS and PALS certified, and helps to provide safe anaesthesia care at Niagara Kids Dentistry.
When she is not at work, you can find her cheerleading and coaching little ones at the gym.
